Beach camping on Fraser Island
Beach Camping
On Fraser Island you can camp next to the beach where there are signs stating
you can and at least 50 metres away from creeks and lakes. Camping on the beach
means no water or toilets
EPA campsites- Eastern beach
The Environmental Protection Agency has campsites at:
- Waddy Point
- Dundubara
- One Tree Rocks (near Eurong)
- Coolooloi Creek (Hook Point)
- Dulara (Approx. 16.5km north of the Hook Point barge landing area.)
- Midyim
- Garulim
- K’gari
EPA campsites- Western beach
- Ungowa
- Garrys Anchorage
- Wathumba (north western beach)
- Awinya Creek
- Bowarrady Creek
- Woralie Creek
- Coongul Creek
EPA Campsites Inland
- Central Station
- Lake Boomanjin
Many of these have no water or toilets available.
You can buy your permits / book these campsites here.
Camp fires: Only allowed at Dundubara and Waddy Point campgrounds and you need
to bring your own wood.
